At Maison Boinet, we believe in responsible and sustainable fashion. Having control of our entire production chain means we are able to make educated decisions and reduce our environmental impact. By investing in sustainable materials, collaborating with local artisans and lowering our power usage, we're helping build a greener future.
We apply the highest of standards when selecting materials for our designs, opting for quality, comfort, durability, eco-friendliness and animal welfare.
• Responsible leather: We use leather sourced from eco-friendly tanneries, minimising our impact on natural resources. All our leathers are certified by the Leather Working Group, an international organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable, responsible practices in the leather industry (https://www.leatherworkinggroup.com)
• Water-based glues: Using solvent-free, water-based glues enables us to protect our artisans' health and reduce our ecological footprint.
• Reusing scraps: Every piece of leather counts. We have created a range of accessories, such as bracelets or products for pets, to reuse leather scraps and limit wastage.
• Buckles: We're sustainability-oriented, often opting to use Zamak (a material that is 100% degradable at the end of its life), favouring a circular-economy approach and reducing landfill. Zamak is currently used in hardware due to its robustness, durability and corrosion-resistance, which makes it perfect

For more than 150 years, we have been doing our best to perpetuate elite French expertise.
• Made-in-France manufacturing: We are proud of the fact that all our belts and leather goods are produced entirely in Château-Renault, France. This allows us to ensure optimum working conditions and support the local economy.
• State-of-the-art manufacturing: The products of skills and knowledge passed down through generations, Maison Boinet belts are crafted with a level of meticulousness that guarantees top quality and exceptional attention to detail. This heritage of French leather artisanry is evident in every piece.
• Training and inclusion: We regularly train apprentices and collaborate with supported employment workplaces, encouraging integration into the workforce.

• Traceability: We are transparent about the origins of our raw materials and components.
• On-demand manufacturing: By favouring an approach of on-demand manufacturing, we are able to reduce our stock and limit the amount of unsold items.
• Leather sourced from animals not bred solely for leather: We only use leather from animals not specifically bred for this purpose, thereby avoiding intensive farming geared exclusively around leather production. Since 2020, we have no longer produced belts using exotic skins.

We firmly believe that a healthy, respectful working environment is essential for achieving high product quality.
That's why we're committed to:
• Minimising our environmental impact: We are constantly testing new plant materials and gradually reducing solvent use in our production processes.
• Fostering our artisans' wellbeing: We provide our teams with optimum working conditions and an environment conducive to creativity.
At Maison Boinet, each belt is the product of a strong commitment to a sustainable future.
