The thin belt, the accessory that flatters the figure
With its 15 or 20mm width, the Maison Boinet women's slim belt is designed to accentuate the waist without ever weighing it down. It is the perfect accessory for a slim dress belt, whether to cinch a flowing dress, structure a loose tunic, a jacket or a coat, or add a touch of character to high-waisted jeans. Discreet on a minimalist look, it becomes a statement accessory as soon as you choose a gilded buckle or a bolder color.
At Maison Boinet, each slim belt is designed as a standalone piece: a timeless base, made to last, that can be worn both in the office and for an evening out.

Which color and loop to choose according to your outfit
Black and brown or tan remain the safe bets for a women's slim belt: they go with almost any wardrobe and can be worn with jeans as well as with a suit. Ivory adds a more summery touch, navy a more chic one, while bolder shades like pink, orange, green, or redcurrant can liven up a neutral outfit.
For those who like variety without multiplying purchases, reversible models (smooth/grained, or two-tone like tan and pink, black and green, or navy and tan) offer two styles in one belt, a good compromise between practicality and elegance.

Choosing the right size for your slim belt
Maison Boinet thin belts are available from 70 to 100cm. To estimate your size accurately, a simple rule: waist belt size = pant size x 2 (rounded up to the next available number), and hip belt size = waist size + 10cm. For example, for size 36 pants, this means 75cm at the waist and 85cm at the hips. Please note, this method is still an estimate: for a perfect result, it is best to measure yourself directly with a tape measure, from the beginning of the buckle to the middle hole of the belt.

Leather crafted in France, in Château-Renault, for each finish
All our thin belts are made from genuine leather without exception: full-grain smooth nappa cowhide for a sleek look, grained leather for a more textured and vibrant finish, or even box calf leather for a more structured material. Some reversible models combine a smooth side and a grained side, or two different colours, allowing you to wear two belts in one. The buckles meet the same high quality standards: gold or silver metal finishes for a discreet shine, or a buckle fully covered in leather for a softer and more refined look. Each piece is handmade in the Château-Renault workshop, where the House has been crafting its leathers since 1930, using precise techniques such as edge-bevelling and multi-layer dyeing.

Maintaining a thin leather belt
Fine leather is easy to maintain, provided you do so regularly. A soft, slightly damp cloth is enough to remove everyday dirt; a nourishing cream for smooth leather, applied occasionally, preserves the suppleness of the material. It is best to avoid prolonged contact with water or chemicals, and to store your belt in a dry place, away from direct light, without always folding it in the same spot.
A final tip from the House: just like with a good pair of shoes, avoid wearing the same belt two days in a row, to give it time to regain its shape and age more harmoniously.
What thin women's belt styles do you offer?
The collection features about twenty models of 15 or 20mm wide belts, made of cowhide leather, available in smooth, grained, box-calf style, or reversible versions, with gold-plated metal buckles, silver-plated metal, or entirely leather-covered.
How do I choose the width of a thin women's belt?
Maison Boinet thin belts are all less than or equal to 20mm wide, a minimalist width that suits all body types: it adapts equally well to high-waist or hip-waist wear, depending on the desired effect.
What size thin women's belt should I order relative to my pants size?
Multiply your pant size by 2 (rounded up to the next available number) for waist-level wear, and add 10cm for hip-level wear. Our belts are available from 70 to 100cm.
How to wear a thin women's belt with a dress or a loose tunic?
Placed at the natural waist, a thin belt structures a flowing dress or a loose tunic without weighing it down. A model with a gold buckle or in a contrasting shade further accentuates this effect.
What color thin women's belt should I choose so that it matches as many outfits as possible?
Black and brown or havana remain the most versatile choices. To vary without multiplying purchases, a reversible two-tone model allows you to cover two moods with a single belt.
What is the difference between smooth nappa leather and grained leather in your thin belts?
Smooth nappa leather offers a clean and shiny look, while grained leather has a more pronounced texture and is visually more resistant to everyday minor marks. Some reversible models offer both finishes on the same belt.
How to care for a thin leather belt to make it last?
A slightly damp soft cloth for cleaning, a nourishing cream for smooth leather from time to time, and storage away from light and humidity are enough to preserve its longevity. Finally, avoid wearing it two days in a row.
What is the price of a thin women's leather belt made in France at Maison Boinet?
The models in the collection are priced between 150€ and 175€ depending on the leather, the buckle, and the presence or absence of a reversible option.
Can a thin belt be worn with high-waisted jeans or wide-leg pants?
Yes, it's even one of its most common uses. With high-waisted jeans, it emphasizes the waist; with wide-leg pants or fluid pants, it helps redefine the silhouette without adding bulk.
